Our scholarship grant is dedicated to filling the need for autistic individuals to have access to continuous learning, college and trade or vocational school programs, and the opportunity to gain valuable skills to secure employment.
As a neurodiverse community, individuals on the autism spectrum face unique challenges when it comes to accessing education and employment opportunities. However, we believe that with the right support and resources, autistic individuals can achieve great things and make meaningful contributions to society.
Our scholarship grant is designed to provide financial support to autistic individuals who are pursuing higher education or vocational training programs. By easing the financial burden of education, we hope to help more autistic individuals access the learning opportunities they need to succeed.
We recognize the importance of both traditional academic programs and vocational training programs in providing autistic individuals with the skills they need to secure employment. That's why our scholarship grant can be used to support a wide range of educational and training programs, including trade schools, community colleges, and four-year universities.
We believe that every autistic individual deserves the opportunity to reach their full potential, and that access to education and training programs is critical in achieving this goal. Our scholarship grant is just one way we are working to promote inclusivity and support the unique needs and strengths of the neurodiverse community.

about our scholarship
Dear Applicant,
We are pleased to announce the establishment of our Evolving Heroes post-secondary education scholarship. Our scholarship is inclusive of college/university, vocational, technical or trade schools for autistics applying for the 2023-2024 academic year. This scholarship has been created to assist individuals on the autism spectrum to further their education, to achieve knowledge and skills that will help them earn a living and gain independence.
Eligibility:
To be eligible for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Be diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) by a qualified medical professional.

You must be an Illinois or Florida resident even if you are attending a program outside of these states. (Proof of residency is required.)

Priority will be give to First-Time Applicants.
Application Requirements:
To apply for the scholarship, applicants must submit the following:

Completed Google Form application with personal information, including contact details and academic information.

Proof of diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). (Ex: Comprehensive Diagnosis or IEP -Individualized Education Plan that states autism.)

Proof of residency.

A personal statement (500 - 1,000 words) or provide a link to a video that is 5 minutes or less describing how autism has affected your life and your academic aspirations.

Two letters of recommendations from teachers, mentors, or community leaders who can attest to your academic and personal achievements.

Sign and upload the Affidavit and Photo/Video Release.

Share your final grades or transcript with us.
Selection Process:
The scholarship recipient will be selected based on the following criteria:

Academic achievement and/or academic growth indicators.

Participation in extracurricular activities or non academic activities. (i.e. STEM, Coding, Sport ,etc...)

Personal statement and letters of recommendation.

And a potential interview via phone or Zoom.
Award Amount:
This Evolving Heroes Scholarship Program for Autistics will award scholarship amounts up to $2,500 maximum amount per person based on tuition to a deserving applicant. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to the recipient's school to cover tuition, fees, and other educational expenses or reimbursed to the scholarship recipient with evidence of payment.
Application Deadline:
The deadline to submit the application is June 30, 2024. The recipient of the scholarship will be notified by email no later than August 1, 2024.
